We’re thrilled with the last two days and are excited that our family has put up sauce for another year. We’ll share all the gory details, lessons learned and other tips tomorrow – for now we’ll share a photo recap of what we’ve been streaming to the Facebook Group through the day. Kind of a silent movie of a big preserving day!

And with that – we’re off! It’s time for Home Ec #8 and I gotta get cooking for the party!

What do you do with the pulp??
(Sorry if you’ve answered this before!)
Hi Chloe,
Not at all!
What I call the pulp is actually the juice and solids (they look like pulpy orange juice when reduced)…. That becomes sauce. But the leftover seeds and skins are dehydrated and turned into powder (our first year doing a big batch) for a tomato paste substitute!
@Chloe-An idea for you- I would put it in a bag in my freezer with my other kitchen scraps (onion & carrot ends, etc.) for vegetable broth.
Great idea as well Jennifer!
