HomeEc #14 – Got Roots
It’s time for another HomeEc night! If you’re new to the concept, it’s a monthly food challenge that you can play at home or you can come to one of two public events (one’s in Columbus, Ohio and the other is in Toronto, Ontario) on the last Monday of the month and share your spoils.
The next HomeEc is Monday, February 25th at 8:00PM.
This months theme is:
That’s right – anything to do with root vegetables!
How’s it work? Here’s the short details:
- Make something that you wish to share with others that includes root vegetables.
- Bring your dish to The Avro (in Toronto) or the Rehab Tavern (in Columbus) or share it on our Facebook page, or Twitter/ Instagram with the hashtag #WPHomeEc on Feb 25th.
- We’ll do a roundup of both events and whatever else is shard.
Neither location has cutlery and plates and we try to make the event a no-waste event. It’s appreciated if you can plan dishes that don’t require cutlery or plates but attendees may want to bring a small plate and fork/ spoon to sample as much as possible!
HomeEc is non-competitive and is an effort to create and support a community of people who share a common love of food. The real magic of the event is the gathering of strangers who, ever time, have become a group of friends. We welcome newcomers and are a friendly bunch that look forward to meeting others. All levels of cooking are encouraged to take part.
If you want the more details (none are necessary), check out the HomeEc long explanation or see the series of posters and round-ups of our past events. If you’re in Toronto, you can RSVP on the Facebook event (there will be recipe ideas and inspiration shared); for those in Columbus you can also check out their Facebook Event or the Blog entry from one of our Hosts, Kate, On The Way.
We hope to see you there!
