F’COFFee
I mentioned Rob in my blog yesterday and his pleasant little coffee shop, F’Coffee. He gave me the term bread bomb to describe Subway’ subs (a guilty pleasure) and I am forever grateful to him for that. In the spirit of full disclosure, Rob is also kind of my landlord and we share a staircase.
His coffee is wonderful, food is uncompromising and staff is quirky. His oatmeal is off the chart.
Dana had clued me in about a week ago. It was a snow day, I was working from home. I went down for an innocent bowl. Raisins and brown sugar were my addition (he also had walnuts). My expectations were moderate to low. I certainly did not think I would see it as something worth writing of.
His slow-cooked oatmeal was one of the best 5 things I ate last year (considering last year also included Alinea in Chicago and Susur before it changed to Madeline’s, he’s hit a home run in my books). This was a little stroke of heaven – like eating creamy, sugary clouds of inner warmth. You really do owe it to yourself.
Now if I could just get ahold of Wilford Brimley for a review…
F’Coffee is open during the day Monday through Friday and some/most Saturdays. They also roast their coffee daily and the food is all around good.
