I had this happen once and it made me so sad. I’m glad you had some other jars so you at least got to enjoy the onions after all your days of work!

They also say not to us metal implements to release bubbles from yor pickles because metal can scratch glass and cause future breakage. They never say not to use metal knives and spoons to serve out the preserves. I wonder whether some breakage is caused by that.
