I just got 150 Lbs of Roma Tomatoes. I’m gonna be canning from now till forever. I’m on a rare break while the BBQ sauce boils down. I had noooooo idea how much work I was in for when I ordered all those Tomatoes! Unfortunately, I live in Peterborough. Maybe just a wee bit too far for Erika to come.
yazatas, we’re just starting and I can’t wait!!! We are spoiled with great equipment – just know that come February when you get to enjoy this harvest that it will hardly seem like you worked at all for your sauce! Will have to write a bit on motivation soon
Hi, We are canning tomatoes this coming Saturday morning starting at 7:00 am, we are doing 8 bushels of tomatoes and it is an entire family adventure. The sauce will be made in the garage which is typical Italian and Nonna & Nonno will be there to direct, instruct and ensure we are all doing it her way.

Hi Carol, Global did find someone (there were looking same day) and our tomatoes are done for the year but thank you for the invite! I love that you are doing it as a family adventure and have the benefit of Nonna and Nonno – we had to adopt surrogate Italian Grandparents (who were actually younger than my parents) when we were learning!
