We have learned this the hard way – reduced store hours and increased people with free time going places equals less access to good coffee.
Make sure you have a beautiful selection of coffee – go out of your way, perhaps, to grab something a little special.
We are spoiled living near and being friends with Rob of F’Coffee so we get hooked up from him. He occasionally sells his heavenly beans (which he roasts every few days at maximum) but there are other alternatives nearby for Toronto folk. Merchants of Green offer amazing fresh roasted, fair trade and organic coffee (and will also sell you the green bean to roast yourself. Darkhorse Espresso (website in progress) bar also does off-sales of great product.
Regardless of where you get it, ensure you’ve got a great cup for you and your guests. If you’re not a coffee drinker, spoil yourself with tea. And if your like me with beer, but that is another story.
Also remember that today is a good day to start infusing raisins and dried cranberries for your stuffing!
